Note the intestinal crypt (Ic) adjacent to the muscularis mucosae (Mm), the lumen of the intestinal crypt (Lu), the nuclei of intestinal cells (Nu) around the intestinal crypt and the lamina propria (Lp). The green and red contours were used to obtain measures of the intestinal crypt and the intestinal crypt lumen, respectively.
