One Health: A Veterinary Perspective

Call for Papers

Acta Veterinaria Scandinavica would like to invite you to submit to our latest Article Collection on the concept of One Health.

The One Health approach was established to promote and improve collaborations and communications across disciplines, working together on inter-connected iNew Content Itemssues across human, animal and environmental sciences.

Whilst the idea of One Health is not a new one, it has become more important in recent years, as the way we interact with other people, animals and our environment is changing. Zoonotic diseases like rabies, Q fever, and Avian Influenza can all be transmitted across species, causing a public health as well as animal health risk. More than half of the infectious diseases in humans originate from animals.

This series aims to help us better understand the inter-connected fields of veterinary medicine, public health and environmental sciences.

This series is a collaboration with Archives of Public Health and Microbiome, working to cover all areas of research relating to One Health. Acta Veterinaria Scandinavica will be focusing on One Health from a veterinary perspective, in line with our aims and scope. This will include topics such as zoonotic diseases, animals and the changing environment, foodborne diseases, antimicrobial resistance and other animal-human interactions.

The deadline for submissions is 1st December 2017.
