Ultrasonogram of a perforated abomasal ulcer. Ultrasonogram of a perforated (type-3) abomasal ulcer in a Jersey cow. The abomasum is characterised by an irregularity in its contour measuring several centimetres and containing a 2.5 cm (width) × 1.5 cm (depth) hyperechogenic plug-like structure (fibrin clot). A comet-tail artefact is visible medial to the hyperechogenic mass.
