  1. Geno- and phenotypic description of the extended-spectrum β-lactamase producing Enterobacterales (ESBL-E) clusters from the equine and environmental specimens obtained at the Equine Veterinary Teaching Hospital (EVTH) during the study period. Single type representatives are excluded
  2. aAltogether, 7 representative isolates of K. pneumoniae and 28 isolates of E. coli were investigated in MLST
  3. bIn addition to multiplex-PCR results, CTX-M gene group was determined by sequencing for representative isolates. TEM = wild-type TEM
  4. cAK amikacin, CN gentamicin, AMC amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, CPD cefpodoxime, SXT sulphamethoxazole/trimethoprim, ENR enrofloxacin, DO doxycycline, R resistant, I intermediate, S susceptible. Susceptibility annotated with a division sign indicates susceptibilities of different isolates
  5. dOne isolate was sensitive to doxycycline
  6. eIncludes two surface hygienic specimens
  7. fOne isolate carried blaTEM only
  8. gOne isolate carried blaSHV and blaTEM only
