The retarded growth recorded for pigs 581 (a) and 1008 (b) was not accompanied with development of other symptoms of PMWS and these pigs were still alive on day 55. The other four thin pigs got the diagnosis PMWS and were dead on day 55. PMWS was confirmed by necropsy in three euthanized pigs (d-e), whereas necropsy not was performed on pig c that died of wasting.
