  1. The animals were sampled during the first five weeks in two Swedish (Herds A and B) and one Norwegian (Herd C) finishing unit. Two of the forty pigs in herd A were diagnosed with PMWS, at 18 and 35 days after arrival, respectively. Based on fisher tests the number of pigs with virus load above 107DNA copies per ml serum was significantly higher in herd A than in the other two herds in week 1, 2 and 3 (p < 0.05).
