  1. Data of the COFT are expressed as mean ± standard deviation (range).
  2. OF5, OF50, OF90 are the NaCl concentration at which respectively 5, 50 and 90% of RBCs are hemolysed.
  3. OF5, OF50 or OF90 from all clinical groups (group 1–5) were compared with the control group (group 6). The global significance level was set at 0.05.
  4. *Denotes a statistically significant difference from the control group for the respective response variable.
